Blue Bell Creameries

Today, as we departed Houston for Austin, we stopped by the Bluebell Ice Cream Factory in Brenham. The sun was out and the weather was comfortable. We bought our tour tickets and sat outside until our tour time. If you’re ever passing by Brenham or are around the area, I definitely recommend stopping by the factory. The tour is only 6 dollars and there are discounts for seniors or children under 14; it comes with a free scoop of their famous Blue Bell ice cream at the end (and it’s more like three scoops). The tour itself isn’t terribly long but it’s definitely interesting to see the mass production of their ice cream products. There’s no photography allowed on the tour so don’t bother bringing your camera inside. The tour ends in the ice cream parlor where you can choose from 16 different flavors. Between the three of us that went, we each got something different. I went for Pistachio Almond, my sister opted for the Sea Salt Caramel, and Calvin got Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. They were all delectable, the cream ratio was just right and the staff taht worked there were also all extremely friendly. If you’re ever even in the Brenham area or even in Houston, it’s only about an hour’s drive, it’s definitely worth coming to see and eat!
