Guard jealously your relationship to God.
Is my confidence placed now in God Himself, not His blessings?
Are we more devoted to service than to Jesus Christ?
Are you drawing your life from any other source than God himself?
Have I been kind to His reputation in my life?
Am I as full of the extravagance of love to Jesus Christ as I was in the beginning, when I went out of my way to prove my devotion to Him?
Oswald Chambers is quite the questioner. Each morning I am brought down once again to my knees before the Lord, convicted of my relationship with the Lord. “Guard jealously your relationship” struck me. How jealous am I of my relationships with God? The truth is: not jealous enough. The Lord is jealous for me but am I jealous for Him? God is constantly teaching me and placing the desire in me to continue to pursue Him. He has no intention of letting me settle for anything less than the fullness He has prepared for me. I want to chase after Him full-heartedly with wild abandon until I can love Him with what the apostle Paul termed “incorruptible love” [Ephesians 6:24].
