“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4:6-7]
The Lord has once again been reminding me of the power of prayer and what it truly means to be a prayer warrior. I always tell people I will pray for them or think of things I want to keep in prayer but more often than not, I usually forget. I’ll jot down a note to remember to pray about it later and then later turns into never. Recently however, God’s been teaching me of bringing everything to Him right away. As I’m driving alone, listening to the radio, I’ve been prompted by the Holy Spirit to turn off the music and spend the time praying outloud. It’s been the most blessed alone driving times I’ve had and I’ve been able to pray about everyone and everything. Anything that has been on my heart has been brought before God. I’ve been so encouraged because my friend has also been learning the same thing and we’ve been able to pray together. I shared some hesitations or nervous feelings I had about a certain situation and we brought it before the Lord in prayer, right on the spot.
“Why not pray right then and there?”
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
